This is natural untreated specimen from Madagscar.We have polished both sides and it is wire wrapped with rhodium plated base meatal for a long wearing life.Supply of this material is becoming hard to find.

Red is caused by iron or hematite, light yellow or gray is caused by clay and brown or deep yellow is from goethite. Sometimes a dazzling display of sparkling tiny crystals occurs upon the surface.
