Vanadinite is an uncommon mineral, only occurring as the result of chemical alterations to a pre-existing material. It is therefore known as a secondary mineral. It is found in arid climates and forms by oxidation of primary lead minerals

Vanadinite is usually bright-red or orange-red in colour, although sometimes brown, red-brown, grey, yellow or colourless. Its distinctive colour makes it popular among mineral collectors. Its streak can be either pale yellow or brownish-yellow. Vanadinite may be transparent, translucent or opaque, and its lustrecan range from resinous to adamantine. Vanadinite is anisotropic, meaning that some of its properties differ when measured along different axes. When measured perpendicular and parallel to its axis of anisotropy,Vanadinite is very brittle, producing small, conchoidal fragments when fractured. Its hardness is 3–4 on the Mohs scale, about the same as a copper coin. Vanadinite is particularly heavy for a translucent mineral. It has a molecular weight of 1,416.27 grams/mole and its specific gravitycan range between 6.6 and 7.2, approximately seven times that of water. This variation in density is caused by impurities

The owner Paul Sedawie is the current president of the Opal Association. and a member of the International colored stone Association. All my life i have enjoyed collecting minerals and fossils .I have been opal mining and now have a large opalized fossil collection of museum quality.I enjoy visiting mines in different parts of the world and try to buy direct off the miner or as close to the source as possible to give you the best deals.I had a factory in asia and a lot of these pieces of jewelery were made there.Natural stones/minerals fascinate me so I dont stock man made- laboratory made stones or imitation stones..I have a few sites at www.opalauctions.com and www.gemrockauctions.com which I head under the Seda group.I believe that your continued business is my business so I hope you enjoy the amazing array and beauty of nature I have to offer.Best Regards Paul Sedawie

Why are users outbidding themselves?

When a bid is placed, this is the maximum amount a user is willing to bid for the product. Our system will then automatically bid on that users behalf, incrementally increasing the bid to maintain their position as the highest bidder, up to the specified maximum.

When there is an icon indicating 'Auto Bid,' it means our system is actively placing bids for the user based on their maximum bid. This may appear as if users are outbidding themselves, but it's simply a result of the system updating the bid to reflect the users maximum limit.

Audit

The Gemstone Sheriff program allows our members to request an audit on any product, which is completed by an independent gemologist who assesses the accuracy of the item description and pictures.
