SIZE 67X 67 X 15MM
COMMENTS FROM AN EXPERIENCED DEALER WITH THIS MATTER
, 1. The carving, if elaborate, cannot be known from photos, 2. The seal’s colors, are they painted, or from mineral absorption? 3. Tusk material is very porous, like bone, if the area where the seal is outlined, has color, the rest of the tusk should have the same colorings, at least all along that same side, and it does not. So either they cut a line with a knife, around the colors, in the barely distinguishable shape of a seal, and then painted around it, and painted the rest of the tusk white, or white-ish, which does not sound likely, any natural coloring like those colors especially, or any colors for that matter, should never be painted out/over.
Or, someone painted inside the line, that could be considered a seal. And you should be able to tell if the painting is new or old. Old will be more like a stain and exterior should have a nice smooth patina. Oh, and it would be worth a lot more
IT IS IN NEW CINDITION NEVER USED
