* AMETHYST GEODES WERE ONCE GAS POCKETS IN BOILING LAVA, SILICA FOUND ITS WAY INSIDE AND TOGETHER WITH IRON PARTICLES CREATED THE BEAUTIFUL PURPLE COLOUR . WHEN EVERYTHING COOLED OFF ATOMS AND MOLECULES TOGETHER WITH THE AVAILABLE SILICA WERE TRAPPED AND FORMED QUARTZ CRYSTALS.
