About Gold Rings

When buying gold Rings you may Purchase 24 kt, 18 kt, 14 kt or 10 kt Gold in the U.S.A.

 Other countries also allow 9 & 7 kt Gold to be sold.

 The Purest of gold is 24 kt.  when you add other metal alloys such as copper, silver or palladium the hardness of the gold is increased. So the 24kt gold will be softest and then 10kt the strongest due to other metal added to the gold.

24K is pure gold

18k gold is 75 % gold and stamped hallmark 18k or 750

14 k is 58.3% gold and stamped hallmark 14k or 585

10 k gold is 41.60%  and stamped hallmark 10k or 417

9 k gold is 37.5%  and stamped hallmark 9K or 375

Hallmark stamped k or kt is same.

Sometimes there is not much room to leave hallmark so k is more often used.

People who do out side in gardens or the  building industry or farmers should consider

Gold rings 14k or below as gold above is softer and can be worn away over the years

9 or 10k gold rings are ideal if you do lot of physical work.

You can chose what ever design pleases you the most and obviously with higher gold prices the 18k gold rings are getting expensive.

If Gold rings have diamonds check that they are genuine brilliant cut diamonds.

Ask questions of your vendor if you do not see all information provided before you bid on a item. You should be able to read the description provided by your seller / vendor on one of these site, they will tell you the caratage 'kt' content, possibly the weight of the gold, the size if applicable, and any gemstones already set in the Gold.
